According to the U.S. Department of Education there were approximately 800,000 migrant children in United States schools in 2000. Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, puerto Rico, and Washington account for roughly one-third of these migrant students. Migrant students make up a large portion of the youth population in Oregon, about 60,000. We looked at the different educational programs that are available to migrant children in Oregon, some of those include Even Start, ESOL, College Assistant Migrant Program, and many more. Most of these programs focused on the information and the way that the education was implemented.
